Winona Fighter Have Our Complete 'Attention' With Big Announcement
Hey, it's my birthday today. Before you even mentally react to that, I am in no way mentioning that for any kind of attention or well wishes. I am well past the age where birthdays matter. That's for younger folk.
The reason I mention it is just as a convenient segue into the actual big news on this October 16th, which is a fantastic gift to me and the rest of the world on this day of days. Winona Fighter, a band we've mentioned quite a bit this year because they kick total ass, announced that they're finally giving us a proper full-length album. The only downside? That album isn't out right now. Or tomorrow. Or the next day. The official release is set for Valentine's Day 2025.
Yes, that's a long-ass wait. But the good news is that we get another peek at what the band has in store for us in the form of 'Attention', the newest single off the upcoming My Apologies to the Chef.
So not only is this song an absolute banger, but it brings a bit harder of an edge than everything we've heard from the band so far. Like the kickass offspring of some of the heavier Green Day songs ('Hitching A Ride', 'East Jesus Nowhere', etc) with a little Jack White attitude and swagger thrown in. The chorus is just as much of a pop-punk earworm as we're used to getting from the band, but knowing they've got a little heavier side to them just makes me want the new album even more.
It's going to be a long wait until February. In the meantime, order yourself a copy of My Apologies to the Chef here.
